SLAYER Drummer, Ex-METAL CHURCH Singer To Guest On 'The Classic Metal Show'

SLAYER drummer Dave Lombardo and ex-METAL CHURCH vocalist Ronny Munroe will be the featured guests on this Saturday's (August 1) edition of "The Classic Metal Show".

"The Classic Metal Show" can be heard every Saturday night between 9:00 p.m. EST and 3:00 a.m. EST at www.cmsradio.net.

SLAYER has just made another track from its upcoming album, "World Painted Blood", available for streaming at ShockHound.com. The limited-edition single, a Kerry King composition, is titled "Hate Worldwide", and is available exclusively as a CD-single at Hot Topic stores.

"World Painted Blood" was recorded in Los Angeles over two time periods, during October 2008 and then between late January and March 2009. The CD was produced by Greg Fidelman, who's spent time in the studio with METALLICA, THE GOSSIP, THE (INTERNATIONAL) NOISE CONSPIRACY, SLIPKNOT and others, and executive-produced by longtime SLAYER colleague Rick Rubin, who suggested Fidelman for the project.

SLAYER — bassist/vocalist Tom Araya, guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, and drummer Dave Lombardo — is currently co-headlining the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival with MARILYN MANSON, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, and BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, among others.

METAL CHURCH's appearance at the Rocklahoma festival on July 9, 1009 marked the band's last-ever show. The group stated, "We do have unfinished business in the studio, and with any luck we will have something that will be of interest to METAL CHURCH fans in the near future."

METAL CHURCH has denied that the recent collapse of the band's record label, SPV (Schallplatten Produktion und Vertrieb GmbH) in Hanover, Germany, was the primary reason behind the group's decision to call it quits.

METAL CHURCH last year announced the addition of guitarist Rick Van Zandt (THE END, ROTTWEILLER) to the group's ranks. He replaced Jay Reynolds (also of MALICE),who left the band for "personal reasons."
